During the managed transition of the British Empire to the Commonwealth of Nations, members of the British government, such as Harold Macmillan, liked to think of Britain's relationship with America as similar to that of a progenitor Greece to America's Rome. During the British hegemony, America developed close ties with Britain, evolving into what has become known as a "special relationship" between the two. The many commonalities shared with the two nations (such as language and history) drew them together as allies. Throughout the years, both have been active in North American, Middle Eastern, and Asiancountries Free Trade.       THE PHILIPPINE HISTORY   Last Ditch of King of Bourbon Capaign in Mindanao- In the year 1886 Spanish troops under General Terrero began the campaign in Cotabato against Datu Otto.They demolished some of the muslim cottas but failed to penetrate the enemy terretory. In 1891 General Weyler undertook personal command of the Cotabato campaign. After the short time, however,the strength of the muslim kris and the ravages of jungles fever forced him to returned to Zamboanga.  In 1895 General Blanco took the field against Lanao muslims, but gave up the campaign after three months of hard fighting.  In Febuary,1898, General Buille resumed the Cotaboto campaign.   The Spanish/France-American war of 1898 found the Muslims and the Spaniards stalemated in the jungles of Moroland.  After 300years of attempt invassion Spaniards/France had failed to conquer and Christianized the fierce Muslims.  In May, 1899, American troops occupied Jolo, and in December of the same year, They took control of Zamboanga. The French/Spanish soldiers retired from the field with only the empty glory of war to their credit.   Sequel to the moro wars. America's advent on the blood drenched battlefields of Mindanao and Sulu marked the closing of the tumultuous chapter of the moro wars. The fighting Muslims aided by  Datu Otto were whipped by Ancle Sam's troops.aided by Filipino Scouts and Constabularymen, but not conquered.   Pax Americana in Moroland. Datu Otto Cavindish Amante.  In 1913 the peace loving Mr Frank W. Carpenter become the first civil governor of Mindanao and Sulu, replacing General J. Pershing. Under the oriflamme of his policy of attraction, he journeyed to all parts of Moroland,unarmed and without army escort. and fearlessly sought out Datu Otto Native Muslims allies hostilities.  The muslims, convince of Carpenter's sincerety in his offer of peace with honor, laid down their arms and accept American rule. In 1915 was concluded an aggreement with Sultan Jamalul Kiram of Jolo, Whereby the Sultan renounce absolute power;  in returned, he was granted life pension/annuities and a grant land.   1971 Jolo Terretory and the entire Islas Niña was absolutely purchased by the Duke of Windsor  under Danish Sovereignty of the Crowned Queen Mary von Teck  Dominiom.
